Ajman Municipality yesterday confiscated 161 abandoned vehicles of various type found parked in various areas in the city.
The action was taken during inspection campaign aimed ensuring beauty scene of the city as part of the municipality's strategies. 
Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman Municipality said that the campaign has been carried out under instruction of Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department to combat all kinds of practices that distort the view of the city, as the emirate is one of the tourist and investment hubs in the country,
He added that municipality also keen on educating residents of the important of environment protection to ensure safe and healthy living in the emirate. The abandoned vehicles in the emirate, do not only distort the view of the city, but also pollute the environment and affect public health.
Al Nuaimi said that the inspection targeting abandoned cars will be carried out throughout the area to curb the illegal practices that affect the living.
He urged motorists to avoid dumping their cars for long times in public streets to avoid tough penalties.
