The Ajman Municipality has confiscated 1845 abandoned vehicles found parked in various parts of the city, in the last ten months. The action was part of the municipality's strategy to ensure better aesthetic appeal of the city.
A top official at the Ajman Municipality said the campaign has been carried out under the directives of Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, to combat all kinds of practices that distort the view of the city.
"The inspection will continue until vehicle owners comply with the rules and regulations that motorists should not to leave their cars in public places without permission or leave them for long periods without cleaning.
"The dusty cars on roads would affect the aesthetic image of the city and would be used as shelter for criminals to carry out illegal activities and crime."
