Six building owners have been booked and 30 others warned in Abu Dhabi over untidy rooftops. The main violations recorded were storing materials, discarding waste and setting up television antennas on the rooftops.
All of these "distort the city's appearance", the municipality said during a crackdown that saw over 150 commercial and residential buildings inspected.
"Storing materials on the rooftops serves as a health and safety threat," said municipal officials.
The crackdown aimed to "preserve the civilised appearance of the city and eliminate the practice of throwing waste on the roofs", they added.
