This evening, PM Modi will address thousands of expats during the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The event organisers said registrations were closed because of an “overwhelming response” from the Indian community to attend Modi’s address.

“The stadium is ready to welcome our Indian PM Modi for the event. On Monday, more than 2,000 volunteers came for the mock drill. Today, we are ready to host this event. We expect a huge crowd for the event,” Jitendra Vaidya, from the Ahlan Modi event said.

An array of activities starting from 3.30pm will include cultural programmes featuring hundreds of artists, a procession inside the stadium, group songs, dance performances, and more. The rehearsals for the event were held in Dubai and other places.

Modi is expected to reach the venue by 6 pm and make an address. Free transportation has been provided to bring participants from all seven emirates to the venue.

Later, on Wednesday, the Indian PM will participate in the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai. Modi will deliver a keynote address at the summit where India is the 'guest of honour' along with Turkey and Qatar. He will meet Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

On Wednesday evening, Modi will inaugurate the BAPS Hindu Mandir, the Middle East’s first traditional Hindu sandstone temple, in Abu Dhabi.
