Catch the online Ramadan lectures being conducted by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai at 9.30pm after Taraweeh prayers. The religious lessons, about 25 to 30 minutes long, are streamed via the department's YouTube channel @iacaddubai.
The serious of e-lectures started on Friday, April 24 evening with a session titled 'Atak Ramadan' (Ramadan has come), delivered by religious guidance specialist Abdul Rahman Al Mulla.
Dr Omar Al Khatib, executive director of the Islamic Affairs Sector, said the lectures for Ramadan 2020 are not limited to the Arabic language. Lectures in English will be held on the 4th of Ramadan and 11th of Ramadan. The Urdu language will be on the 5th, 12th and 19th.
Activities and programmes of the religious awareness plan will also be shared on 'Instagram Live Lessons' three days per week (Saturday, Monday and Wednesday) for eight minutes at IACAD Instagram account, starting at 4.30pm. There will be scientific learning courses to be held remotely in the provisions of Zakat and Fasting from 16-18 Ramadan at 4.30pm for an hour.
In addition, 30 videos of fatwas for the most frequently asked questions during Ramadan will be published on social media.
Several other lectures and events will be provided by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture, remotely and through the Microsoft Teams programme.

Dr Al Khatib said the IACAD has always been trying to revive The Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) during Ramadan by performing the rituals of Taraweeh prayer and the night prayer, as well as listening to the recitations of the holy Quran. However, this year, all these religious deeds will be held remotely according to the religious awareness plan of Dubai.
