Pakistan Consulate in Dubai has suspended its consular services for two weeks in the wake of restrictions imposed by Dubai government on the movement of people to contain spread of coronavirus in the emirate.
Issuance and renewals of passport and NICOP remain suspended for the time being and only emergency cases will be handled. However, welfare work by the consulate will go ahead as planned to help the needy Pakistanis here.
Dubai government has imposed a 24-hour restriction on the movement of people for two weeks due to sterilization programme. General public have to obtain permit from the government website when stepping out of their homes. They will have to submit payments receipts for groceries or pharmacies as a proof for coming out of their homes.
It also advised Pakistani nationals who are seeking rations to register online.

"Keeping in view Dubai Government's 24-hour sterilization programme and restrictions of movement for two weeks, all needy Pakistani nationals in Dubai and Northern Emirates are requested to register for ration. Consulate will contact the people," it said in its twitter account.
The consulate is also collecting data of Pakistani nationals who want to return home after their visas have expired or they have lost their job because of Covid-19 effects.
Ahmed Amjad Ali, Consul-general of Pakistan in Dubai, earlier said said the number of Pakistani nationals who want to go back to home reached 20,000 on Sunday evening.
"Yes, almost 20,000 people have registered so far on the digital platforms announced by the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai. We are only collecting the data of Pakistanis stranded here now due to Covid-19 impact," he said.
