A number of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) clinics will no longer accept patients with fever or any symptoms of infectious disease, it was announced on Monday.
The DHA said all clinics known as 'fever clinics' and 'infectious disease clinics' at its primary health centres will now be separated from other specialised medical clinics, as part of efforts to ensure the safety of patients at high risk of contracting illnesses.
Al Mizhar, Al Safa and Al Mamzhar clinics will stop accepting patients at their fever clinics and those with high temperature and other symptoms of infectious diseases shall be advised to go to other primary healthcare centres, said Humaid Al Qutami, director-general of DHA.
This step will help keep vulnerable patients safe, especially the elderly, children, pregnant women, people of determination and those with chronic diseases, the authority said.
Upon inspecting the Al Mizhar Health Center this morning, Al Qutami said the authority is continuously working to improve patients' journey, in accordance with the highest standards of safety and protection and in line with internationally recognised standards of care.
