After they rescued her from a drowning vehicle, an Emirati woman has thanked the Dubai Police for exemplary actions that saved her life.
In a phone call to the radio station Noor Dubai, Reem Al-Falaisi recounted how her car started to drown on Saturday, January 11, when she entered the Festival Tunnel without noticing the depth of the water there. As the water began to drown her car, she started to drown as well.
The police rushed to the spot after receiving a call at 7 am, finding the car nearly submerged entirely in the waiter. Reem was rescued through one of the car's windows, as the doors were stuck and wouldn't open.
After lifting her out of the car, the rescue team had her sit on the top of her car until they were able to get her out of the flooded tunnel.
Dubai Police have invited Reem to visit the Operations and Command Room at their headquarters so that she can see how officers deal with emergency calls made in different languages.
