All paid parking zones in Dubai will be free of charge except for the parking lots of the fish market and the multi-level Parking terminal.

Parking will be free in the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah today for the Hijri New Year Holiday.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) last week announced the timings of different services during the holiday of the New Hijri Year covering customers' happiness centers, public car parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, marine transit modes, and vehicles testing and registration centers.

Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said, "Customers' happiness centers will be off duty during Holiday of New Hijri Year on Sunday, October 2 and will resume duty on Monday, October 3, 2016. All paid parking zones in Dubai will be free of charge except for the parking lots of the Fish Market and the multi-level Parking terminal on Sunday, October 2, 2016, and fees will be reactivated on the Monday, October 3, 2016."
Attif Al Zarooni, Director of the Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, said in a separate statement that parking will be free to mark the celebration of the Hijri New Year. Parking charges will resume on Monday, October 3.

"On Saturday, October 1, the Red Line of Dubai Metro will start service at 05:30 am (Express Metro Service) and continue up to 01:00 am (on the following day); and on Sunday, October 2, from 05:30 am to 12:00 midnight. The Green Line will operate on Saturda from 05:50 am and continue up to 01:00 am (on the following day), and on Sunday from 05:50 to 12:00 midnight. Dubai Tram will be operating daily from 06:30 am up to 01:00 am (on the following day) and on Friday it will start service at 09:00 am and continue up to 01:00 am (on the following day).

"Service hours of Dubai Bus on Sunday will be as follows: Main Bus Stations such at Gold Souk, the service will start at 04.25 am and end at 12:00 midnight, and at Al Ghubaiba from 04.30 am to 12:00 midnight. At subsidiary stations, buses will operate at Satwa from 04:57 am to 12:00 midnight, whereas Route C01 will be in operation around-the-clock. At Al Qusais, buses will operate from 04:40 am up to 11:30 pm, while at Al Quoz Industrial Station, buses will operate from 05:30 am to 11.30 pm, and at Jebel Ali Station the bus service will from 05:00 am to 11:30 pm.

"The Metro Stations Feeder Bus Service at Al Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, Abu Hail, Etisalat, and Dubai Mall-Burj Khalifa stations will operate from 05:00 am to 12:20 am (past midnight).

"Intercity Buses will be in service as follows: At Main Stations such as Ghubaiba, the service will be running around-the-clock to Jubail, Sharjah, while Abu Dhabi-bound service will be from 05:00 am to 12:25 am (past midnight). Subsidiary Stations such as Union Square will be operating from 04:30 am up to 01:25 am (on the following day). At Al Sabkha Station, intercity bus service will operate from 06:15 am to 01:30 am (on the following day), and at Deira City Center Station the service will be from 05:35 am up to 11:30 pm. At Al Karama Station the service will run from 06:10 am up to 10:15 pm, whereas at Al Ahli Club Station, the service will start from 06:05 am and continue up to 10:25 pm. As for external stations such as Al Taawon (Sharjah), the service will run from 05:30 am up to 10:00 pm, Fujaira Station will be in service from 05:50 am to 09:00 pm, Ajman Station will offer service from 04:30 am to 11:00 pm, and Hatta Station will be operating from 05:30 am up to 09:30 pm," said Moaza.

Explaining the timing of the marine transit modes, the Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, said, "The Water Bus will be operating at Marina stations (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace and Marina Promenade) from Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. On Friday and public holidays marine transit modes offer services from 12:00 pm up to 12:00 midnight.

"The daily business hours of the Water Taxi service will be from 09:00 am to 10:00 pm. Abras' working hours will as follows: At Dubai Creek (Al Ghubaiba Al Sabkha, Baniyas and Dubai Old Souq Stations) from 07:00 am up to 10:00 pm, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am to 12:00 (midnight) during Fridays and public holidays. The Blue Abra (Electric Abra) will be operating at Burj Khalifa area from 06:00 pm to 11:30 pm. At Al Mamzar, Abra will operate from 02:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. Atlantis Abra will operate from 01:00 pm to 09:00 pm, and the air-conditioned abra at Al Jaddaf, Dubai Festival City will operate from 07:00 am to 12:00 midnight.

"Dubai Ferry will offer scheduled daily services off Al Ghubaiba and Al Marina Stations starting at 11.00 am, 01:00 pm, 03:00 pm, 05:00 pm and 06:30 pm.

"As for the working hours of service providers, all centers of partners and service providers will be closed during the Holiday of New Hijri Year on Sunday October 2nd, and they will be back in service on Monday October 3rd 2016," concluded Moaza.
