The food trucks of Dubai are slowly, but surely gaining in popularity. Going by the wide array of finger foods, ice creams and other treats these kitchen-on wheels whip up, the trucks are surely worth a try. We look at what the food trucks at Modesh World, Dubai World Trade Centre are offering.
Gelato lovers would love to know that Dri Dri, an Italian gelateria, is offering a 120-140gm scoop for Dh24 in refreshing summer flavours. More serious ice cream fans could try a gourmet gelato that's being served from a traditional Pozzetti counter.
Hungry for more? Then check out Bikes'n Bites. The place serves a delicious and 'meaty' dish called Crossroad (a Texas hot dog with caramelised onion and mustard in a Vienna baguette) for Dh30. Top it with a cool soft drink. Rest assured you will feel full after devouring this 'hearty' snack.
For a quick bite, go to Saj2Go. They are really fast with their dishes. It's a perfect truck for those not wanting to waste too much time on their meal. Try their Kaak Combo or Chicken Tawook. The spice levels in both these preparations have been tempered down to suit people who are not fond of spicy food. In the mood for Emirati cuisine? Go to Barjeel. Located at the foot of the Zipline Jump Adventure, you must have their biryani, it's divine!
For Indian snacks, hit Chaat Corner at Hall 5. They serve a variety of mouth watering, spicy chaats and other snacks. Anyone craving sugar? On The Moo is the answer. It's an ideal spot for ice cream lovers. They make desserts based on your choice. Choose a flavour and a topping, then watch how they scrape, crush and roll the ice cream onto a cold plate. Splendid to look at and equally tasty.
A must try at On The Moo is the vanilla with crushed blackberries and Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Sin. It's yum! And if you're looking for something that will not leave you with a toothache, munch on some mini pancakes at Holland Mini Pancake. They actually convert massive pancakes into cute little bite-size pops and the best thing is you can have them with a selection of your favourite toppings. So if you are heading out to Modesh World this weekend, don't miss out on some great treats served by these food trucks.
