Michael, a native Italian, feels lucky that his apartment on the 57th floor of the Torch tower hasn't been touched by the fire that broke out Friday early morning.
Michael who owns an apartment in Torch tower is one of the 94 residents relocated at the Media One Hotel.
Michael says he is grateful to the authorities in Dubai for going lengths and breadths to ensure the safety and comfort of the stranded residents, something one wouldn't find in Italy.
"The Dubai authorities along with the Torch tower management and the hotel have all been very supportive and taken care of our needs. This doesn't happen in Italy. Thank you, Dubai authorities and people of Dubai, for doing a great job", he said.
There is some anxiety that looms over his mind, given that there is no confirmation on when he will be allowed to move back into his apartment and resume a normal routine.
"I have to take days off from work with the possibility of extending my stay at the hotel. I hope the situation resolves soon", Michael added.
