Interactive sessions to guide IIT aspirants in UAE

In a first, interactive sessions will be held for students from the UAE who wish to seek admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The sessions will be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on the Joint Entrance Examination 2017 (JEE Advanced 2017) and the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2017 (Gate 2017).
JEE-Advanced exam is for admission to the IITs and will be conducted in the UAE for academic year 2017-18. Students from the UAE will now appear for the JEE Advanced 2017 and Gate 2017 on the same day and time as aspirants in India. 
"This is for the first time that such an event will be organised in the UAE," Indian Embassy second secretary (passports, information, education and culture) Kapil Raj told Khaleej Times.
The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, is providing this opportunity for international students.
"All Indians and foreign nationals, including PIO and OCI card holders who satisfy the eligibility criteria, can appear in JEE Advanced," Raj said. "I hope all students make use of this opportunity. I have informed associations in Al Ain about this." 
A delegation of five faculty members from various IITs - with IIT Bombay as the coordinator - will visit the UAE from September 5 to 7. They will interact with Class XI and XII students and their parents, and the final and pre-final year undergraduate engineering students, to share information about the entrance exams, admission procedure for international students, life at various IITs and future prospects.
Professor Subhananda Chakrabarti (IIT Bombay), Prof Sreedhara Sheshadri (IIT Bombay), Prof Nithin George (IIT Gandhinagar), Prof Rajendra Singh (IIT Kharagpur) and Prof Shaligram Tiwari (IIT Madras) will be taking part in the three-day session.
Presentation and interactive sessions on JEE Advanced 2017 and Gate 2017 will be held at the India Social and Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi on September 5 from 7.30pm. Sessions will be held in Dubai on September 6 and 7.
The meeting for JEE Advanced 2017 will be held at the Indian High School, Dubai, on September 6 from 6pm, while the meeting for Gate 2017 will be held at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus on September 7 from 3.30pm.
