Smart Pay by UAE Exchange has partnered with Khaleej Times to bring a smile on the faces of blue-collared expats in this blessed month of Ramadan by sending them home to celebrate Eid Al Fitr this year.
Several expat workers in the UAE tend to conserve almost all of their earnings to remit them back home and, in the process, forgo the expenses they'd have to incur on airfare and travel. Many of them, therefore, do not see their families for several years. Spotting another opportunity that's in line with its objective to make the lives of UAE expats better, Smart Pay, a UAE Exchange product which offers corporate payroll solution to organisations, is partnering with Khaleej Times, the UAE's first and best English newspaper, for this noble cause.
Speaking on the occasion of the partnership, Vicky Kapur, Executive Editor of Khaleej Times, expressed his delight. "We at KT see it as an absolute honour and immense privilege if we can help even one disadvantaged person. As media, doing good is part of our commitment to our audience, and we are extremely lucky and delighted to have a like-minded patron such as Smart Pay by UAE Exchange in this endeavour."
Commenting on the collaboration, Abdel Kareem Alkayed, Country Head of UAE Exchange-UAE, said: "As a committed corporate citizen throughout our 40-year old journey, we have been involved in many different outreach programmes that empower people and enable them to stay connected to their loved ones back in their home countries. This year we are proud to partner with Khaleej Times for this initiative which we believe will touch lives and bring happiness to not only the lucky expatriate but also to his or her loved ones. In this month of giving, we are glad to have the opportunity to give life to a breadwinner's dreams while he or she makes others' dreams possible."
Shishir Kapadia, Senior Vice-President (Finance & Operations) Khaleej Times also stated, "We feel blessed to be able to give back in the Holy month of Ramadan. Through this initiative we intend to give 5 lucky winners the opportunity to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with their loved ones back home. Any citizen or resident of the United Arab Emirates can nominate another expat resident of UAE who they know has not had the opportunity to go back home for more than two years. Complete travel arrangements will be made by Khaleej Times courtesy of Smart Pay by UAE Exchange."
The nominations will be verified by the Khaleej Times team, after which five winners will be selected at random. The winners will be given return tickets to their respective home countries to spend Eid with their loved ones. Khaleej Times will also publish their stories across all platforms as they share their journey of leading a life away from their families and try and fulfill the desires of their loved ones by sacrificing their own.
Note: All nominations can be sent in to events@khaleejtimes.com. Terms and Conditions Apply.
