Movie companies looking to film in an industrial port area now have a new location: Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).
Following an agreement signed between Media Zone Authority-Abu Dhabi (MZA), twofour 54 and Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP), the emirate's industrial port set up a filming location on its premises.
In return, ADP will have access to twofour54's studios and post production facilities for commercial projects, as well as greater access to twofour54's 380-strong partner base.
"A key attraction of Abu Dhabi to regional and international film productions is the variety of locations we can offer. By partnering with Abu Dhabi Ports, twofour54 will be able to add a new, large scale filming location to the diverse list that we already offer film and television producers," said Noura Al Kaabi, chairperson of MZA and twofour54 board.
So far, Abu Dhabi locations made famous by international productions include the Liwa desert, where parts of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was filmed, the Emirates Palace and Corniche road, where scenes from Fast and Furious 7 took place and Hameem's Car Museum, which appeared in an episode of UK's Top Gear.
