The MOFA cautioned the public from spreading news or information from unverified sources regarding the ranking of the UAE passport. "Please refer to official channels which are certified by the ministry for such information." This comes on the heels of another announcement made by the ministry regarding scam messages sent in its name. UAE government entities and companies regularly warn customers about such dubious emails and phone calls, and urge the public to constantly check with the department or company involved. Sharing rumours and other false statements is a criminal offence that is punishable by law with a fine of up to Dh1 million.
