The Sharjah musical fountain, the largest of its kind in the region, is 220 metres wide and will shoot water up to 100 metres into the air. It has two giant water screens, and is equipped with the latest sound and light techniques. It will have different musical and laser shows, with laser arrangements and eight video projections on water screens, every day.

The first show began at 830pm with Colorful music and water dancing and spectacular musical performances in the heart of Khalid Lagoon. With a combination of colourful water and light, the UAE flag was shaped during the fountain’s shows.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Sarkal expressed his delight at the launch of the first shows of the Musical Fountain, which will add to the tourist attractions in the emirate, and is expected to draw more visitors and tourists to enjoy its daily performances and different shows.

‘The musical fountain will become a landmark attraction in Sharjah, and it will have eight daily shows with various musical and laser arrangements and video projections on water screens,’ Al Sarkal added.

The shows will begin from 8:30 pm until 12 midnight every 30 minutes daily. Each show will last from 5 -10 minutes, Al Sarkal said, adding that more touches and effects will be added to the fountain performances, to make it one of the most prominent fountains in the region and the world.

The project, which is valued at Dhs120m, spreads across an area of 231000 square feet.
