Rains of different intensities lashed different parts of the country on Saturday, December 7, with weathermen forecasting more showers for the next four days. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), heavy rain was reported in Fujairah's Al Aqah, while Dubai's Hatta, Dibba Al Fujairah and Abu Dhabi's suburbs saw medium intensity ones.
Light showers were seen over Sharjah's University City and Al Madam; Dubai's Jebel Ali; and Abu Dhabi's main island, Al Shawamekh, Al Quaa and other areas in Al Ain, Mezaira South (Al Dhafra); and Al Ain - Abu Dhabi Road.
Dark clouds hovered over most parts of the country on Saturday. Over the next four days, the NCM has predicted wind speeds of up to 50kmph that could blow up dust and sand, causing poor visibility at times. During this period, the seas will be rough.
Ali Al Musallah, senior weather forecaster at the NCM, had told Khaleej Times that the country would experience a temperature drop of at least four degrees from Sunday.
The NCM had earlier said that rainy conditions will prevail until December 11. The rains will intensify from Sunday, December 8, with lightning and thunder also forecast.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, clouds will gradually decrease.
