Raising the slogan 'Heritage for Nature Conservation, 14th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days will start on April 7 at the Heritage area, in the Heart of Sharjah. The event will run up to April 23 in all the cities and regions of the emirate.
The Republic of Macedonia will be the Guest of Honour of this year's annual celebration of local heritage, folklore and culture, organised by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.

The venue of the Heritage Village includes ancient historical landmarks, handicrafts, folklore stories, a new children's village and a replica of the old hospital, which used to serve as the first maternity unit for Sharjah. The child-friendly design of the Heritage Village has been specifically done to accommodate and entertain visitors who may bring along young children.
Sharjah Heritage Days includes a variety of activities, seminars and competitions, with a number of Emirati, Arabic, Islamic and international agencies and organisations collaborating and participating.
Abdulaziz Almusallam, Chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said: "His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has provided unlimited support to Sharjah Heritage Days since its inception.
The event is a clear reference point for the cultural and moral values of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE - reflecting out to the entire world. Its huge and continued appeal has seen it attract heritage enthusiasts, citizens, residents and tourists alike.
The Macedonia's Ambassador to the UAE, Sasho Tashevski, said: "We are delighted to be the guest of honour for Sharjah Heritage Days, simultaneously commemorating 20 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and our Republic."
Activities over the event period will include a cookery programme with nine renowned chefs and nine handicraftsmen who will demonstrate how to design creative artifacts and other organic products that were most commonly used by people in Sharjah. This exercise aims to encourage more sustainable habits and lifestyles for visitors to adopt.
The Sharjah Institute for Heritage aims to introduce both tangible and intangible heritage to the new generation of Emiratis - to make them proud of their cultural identity and belonging.
