Speed limits on some Ajman roads reduced

 The Ajman Police have decided to reduce the speed limit of some of the key roads to curb the run-over accidents in the emirate. The new speed limit will be affective from May 1.
The speed limit of Shaikh Amar Al Nuaimi and Shaikh Rashim bin Saeed roads will be reduced from 80 to 70 kmph and the radar will be adjusted to 91.
In Shaikh Humaid Al Nuaimi, Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid and Al Kuwait roads from 60 to 50kmph per hour and the radar will be adjusted to 71. On Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoun Road, the speed limit has been reduced from 100 to 90 and the radar will be adjusted at 101.
The police are also planning to construct humps in the exits of Enoc, Adnoc to force drivers to reduce the speed when entering the highway.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Colonel Humaid Al Musaibi, Director of Patrol and Traffic Department at Ajman Police, said the latest statistics showed an increasing number of run-over accidents in these roads which witnessed heavy traffic movement every day."
He pointed out that over speeding was the main reason for the recent fatal accidents.
