A group of tourists of determination were given front row seats to watch the Burj Khalifa pyrotechnics display on New Year's Eve. Sitting next to the 'Love Me' sculpture at The Dubai Mall's Waterfront Promenade, Saudi national and IT professional Abdulaziz, 41, told Khaleej Times that this was the third time he's watching the iconic fireworks show from the world's tallest tower.
"I cannot hear or speak but I'm mesmerised by the brilliant bursts of colours from Burj Khalifa," he said through sign language. "I can also feel the warm celebratory activities. Everyone is happy and in high spirits.
The group of 50 tourists come from various parts of the world but found a common interest in coming to Dubai to witness the turn of the new year.
Jindrich Novotny, 52, and Tomas Rehab, 30, from Czech Republic were joined by 51-year old Drahusa Urbanova from neighboring Slovakia.
