UAE: 'Christmas star' now visible as Saturn, Jupiter align

Dubai - Two of the largest planets in the solar system are now seen merging in the UAE sky.

UAE residents, look up to the heavens to see a rare celestial event that's happening after centuries!

December 21 is the night of the winter solstice and two of the largest planets in the solar system are now seen merging in the UAE sky.

This is the closest visible conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 800 years.

For the past few months, the two gas giants have been “wooing” each other, inching closer in the western part of the night sky.

The 'Christmas Star' will be visible till 7.49pm.
