One million bananas and two tonnes of apples were among the latest contributions received by the '10 million meals' campaign, the largest food distribution drive organised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in collaboration with the Community Solidarity Fund Against Covid-19.
Marwa Hamdy from the Del Monte Fruit Company called the campaign's call centre to check the possibility of donating one million bananas, to be added to the meals for the needy families and those most affected by the pandemic.
Another caller contributed two tonnes of apples to brighten the beneficiary's packages.
The '10 million meals' campaign is a show of humanity standing together in solidarity, to achieve the vision of the country's leadership in turning it into a global capital for charitable and humanitarian work.
