An Arab man has apologised to the Sharjah Police after a voice recording he made about thefts from cars in the emirate went viral on social media. In his voice note, the man had asked residents to beware of a gang of robbers who broke into cars and stole valuables. However, according to a top police official, the man "exaggerated some details" and created panic among residents with his voice note.
The police summoned the Gulf national and warned him that his voice note was illegal as it "affected the security" of society. "The note included exaggerations of the theft incidents," said a police official.
Realising his folly, the man has apologised to the police and pledged to not repeat the offence.

2 held for car break-ins

The police have, meanwhile, arrested two Arab nationals for breaking into cars and stealing valuables in different parts of Sharjah. The robbers stole mobiles, laptops, cash and other valuables left inside by owners.
