UAE students stopped from changing schools due to damaged bus seats

Ras Al Khaimah - All the 31 students, who have misbehaved and recklessly marred five seats of the school bus, need to pay a total of Dh750.

 The Jawda Secondary School for boys in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has refused a transfer request submitted by 31 students before paying for five school bus seats they intentionally marred.
As per initial investigation by the school administration, each and every student involved in the misconduct has been asked to pay Dh25, according to Ali Ismael, an educationalist with the school.
"All the 31 students, who have misbehaved and recklessly marred five seats of the school bus, need to pay a total of Dh750; a disciplinary amount meant to make them stop their ill practices."
The school administration has decided to force all the students, who take the bus to school every day, pay the set fine because they refused to tell the names of the naughty students involved, he explained.
"However, the students insisted on not paying the little fine to the body concerned saying they have already paid their school fees in the beginning of the academic year, and can pay no more for repairing the bus seats."
The students were not good to the bus driver as well and treated him impolitely, Ismael added. "The driver cannot pay for the damaged seats which were destroyed by the students who were all were expatriates."
Students should have been more careful and keep such an important public property which belongs to the Emirates Transport, and that is a national institution that has to be preserved, he pointed out.
"As a counter penalty, the School administration has decided not to approve a transfer request submitted by the students before they pay out the due repair charges."
Ahmed Malek, manager of the Dheit School Bus Station, said the mishap took place some days back when the bus driver reported the students' misconduct to his seniors.
"The Bus Station has therefore raised the issue to the School Administration attached with due fees for fixing the marred seats."
