His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has said that the UAE will continue to support businesses and attract more investments and professionals, which could help achieve the objectives of the 'Emirates Vision 2021'.
During his visit to Bloomberg's headquarters in Dubai on Sunday, Shaikh Mohammed said that the partnership between the government and private sector is the key to success and long-term growth that can benefit both parties. He also met Peter Grauer, chairman of Bloomberg LP.
Shaikh Mohammed said Dubai has consolidated its position as a major centre for media in the region through strategic partnerships with big media institutions in the world and through developed infrastructure.
Speaking about the role of media, Shaikh Mohammed said: "The challenges the world is facing today are very complicated. Media shoulders greater responsibilities in providing the information and news objectively and neutrally."
A word has a great impact, which could help people understand the reality of life and make them cross the hardships they may come across, he added.
"The UAE is keen to prepare a generation of promising media persons, who will be able to take part in the development of the industry not only inside the country but across the Arab world," he said.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai International Financial Centre; were also present on the occasion.
