Values, creativity
must for a better
life: Abd Al Kafi

DUBAI — The better we understand life, the happier and safer we shall be here and in the Hereafter, and this may only be achieved by closely observing Allah’s instructions, said Egyptian scholar Dr Omar Abd Al Kafi in his lecture at the Dubai International Holy Quran Award on Thursday night at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Al Mamzar area.

Dr Abd Al Kafi said man is basically a mix of clay and spirit. “As Allah knows best His creatures, man’s spiritual or heavenly nature surpasses the earthy one when obeying His orders.”

Man is Allah’s vicegerent on earth. Both values and creativity are indispensable for a better life that man used the atomic bomb, which he creatively invented, in destruction when lacking values. Further, Dr Abd Al Kafi said worship is one of the main gates to comprehend life, because mankind and jinn are created, as stipulated in the Holy Quran, only for worshiping God. “People cannot do without worship; otherwise they shall be living just like animals and life will turn depressed.” Illustrating the impact of the five daily Prayers as an example of worship, Dr Abd Al Kafi said a Muslim starts prayers with Takbeer or saying Allah is the Greatest, indicating that God is greater than all worldly matters that may distract him.

If people better their relation with Allah, the whole universe will be in their benefit,” he said, narrating the story of a man who used to guard a herd of sheep with 30 wolves at the time of Omar Ibn Abdulaziz, who was known for his justice.

Dr Abd Al Kafi then said the words of Azan or call for prayer proved that prayers elevate Muslims and eliminate sins. “The whole universe does glorify Allah, and hence man becomes in harmony with all creatures when he does the same, remember Allah in words and deeds, and say Zikr.”

Noting that a hallow of light and energy surround man after ablution, which is compulsory for prayer, Dr Abd Al Kafi said when man goes to the masjid for Fajr (Dawn) Prayer, he is benefitted from special rays that protect him against 72 diseases. “Fajr Prayer enhances man’s immunity.”
