Video: Dubai issues guidelines for worshippers ahead of mosques reopening

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has released a set of safety guidelines that worshippers need to follow when mosques reopen at 30 per cent capacity from July 1.
Friday prayers will continue to remain suspended, the IACAD affirmed.

Prayer rooms on the roads, and at industrial areas, shopping malls and parks will remain closed until further notice.
The guidelines require worshippers to wear a mask and gloves while praying; bring their own prayer mats; and maintain a 1.5m distance from others. They also stated that the ladies prayer halls and ablution areas will remain closed.
"Adhering to the authorities' instructions to contain the spread of Covid-19 is important. The reopening comes after a set of procedures were outlined for worshippers to follow," said Dr Hamad Al Sheikh Ahmad Al Shaibani, Director-General of the IACAD.

Mohammed Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of the Mosques Affairs Sector, said all mosques have been thoroughly cleaned and sterilised.
Guidelines for worshipers in Dubai mosques:
> Worshippers must leave an empty row between every two rows
> It is mandatory for all worshippers to wear gloves and masks
> All worshippers must bring their own prayer mat to the mosques
> A 1.5-metre gap must be left between worshippers
> Everyone must leave after the obligatory prayer is completed; they must not hold a second congregation
> Those with chronic diseases and weak immunity must not go to the mosques
> Worshippers aged above 60 and children under 12 years must not go to the mosques
General safety measures at mosques
> The mosques shall remain open only from the time of azan until the end of the obligatory prayer in congregation
> The obligatory prayer shall be performed immediately after the azan
> The mosques will be closed after each congregational prayer
> It is not allowed for the worshipers to distribute face masks and gloves at the entrance of the mosques
> Any sort of distribution, including food, is strictly prohibited
> Ladies prayer halls shall remain closed until further notice
> Bathrooms and ablution areas shall remain closed until further notice
