Abu Dhabi - Police bands across the globe came together virtually and played ‘The Triumphal March’ as a message of hope.
The UAE’s Ministry of Interior, together with 27 police bands from 26 countries, has played a global musical tribute to all the medics and workers fighting on the front lines of the Covid-19 battle.
Though thousands of miles apart, the police bands came together virtually to perform an orchestral ensemble composition, as a message of thanks and hope.
Besides the UAE band, among the performers who joined were those from Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Lithuania, Mauritius, Italy, Israel, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Senegal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
They played the iconic score of Verdi’s ‘The Triumphal March’ from the opera ‘Aida’.
“Covid-19 stopped the world in its tracks but a valiant effort from frontline workers contributed to vital services continuing nearly uninterrupted. This video is a tribute to those workers and a thank you to them for their commitment and dedication during this challenging time,” the MoI said in a statement.
