Dubai - Belgium has now raised its terror threat to its highest level.

All the UAE citizens in Belgium are safe, confirmed Sulaiman Hamid AlMazroui, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, following the two blasts tore through the departures area of Zaventem airport shortly after 08:00 local time (07:00 GMT).
"It is possible that all flights of the two UAE airline carriers Etihad Airways and Emirates Airlines will be diverted to other airports in the country, after airport and whole transport system have been closed in the capital Brussels. The Belgian government has confirmed casualties at the airport but has given no numbers. The cause of the explosions is unknown.
