Seems like nature saved the best for the last as the thickest fog, this week, blanketed the country on the last day of the year.
Residents across Dubai and UAE woke up to heavy fog on Saturday (December 31) morning, with visibility reduced to 100 metres, according to the national met department (NCMS).
The seasonal fog also hid the Burj Khalifa from view this morning.
A fireworks display at the building, the world's tallest at 828 meters (2,716 feet), is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people on Saturday night.
Although traffic flow was normal across the country, motorists are advised to exercise caution and drive carefully.
Emirates tweeted that some flights have been affected by today's fog, hence passengers are advised to check flight status before leaving for the airport. Contact 600 555 555 or tweet to them:

Earlier this week, NCMS had forecasted dense fog throughout the week, affecting road and air traffic in the country, particularly Dubai.
Dubai Police recorded 107 accidents during Thursday's fog this week and 800 trucks were fined in Abu Dhabi for driving during the dense fog.
The weather forecast for today is foggy, becoming partly cloudy to fair weather.
Light to moderate winds in general.
The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and tomorrow early morning over the coastal and the internal areas, with a chance of fog/mist formation over scattered areas.
Moderate sea in the Arabian Gulf, and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.
