I created the path between Hollywood and Bollywood: Gulshan

FAMOUS FOR DOING villainous roles, the Bollywood baddie Gulshan Grover is excited about working in a Polish film. A true international actor and a player on the world stage, over the years, he has acted in movies across continents. "I have done Malaysian, Iranian, Australian and Canadian films and now I have just signed a Polish film. I am working in different countries apart from Hollywood and Bollywood. Presently, no other actor is doing this. People only talk about Hollywood and Bollywood. I am a pioneer in starting the trend from Bollywood.  I did not leave India and settle down in Los Angeles. I am the first film star who made the transition to working in Hollywood and coming back to Bollywood. I am the first Indian actor to work in a leading role in a Polish film. The name of the film in English means No Means No," said Gulshan while talking to City Times.
The actor was in the city recently for the Gr8 Women Awards.
"I have tremendous respect for women. Maybe in the movies, I played a bad guy or a character who has not been good to women but that does not reflect my personal opinion about women. I always say, this in my bad man style, that I want to beat up the person who coined the term that women are the weaker sex. In my personal opinion, women are really powerful. I came here to salute and applaud the wonderful achievers," said Gulshan.
His forthcoming Hindi film is called Behen Hogi Teri (She must be your sister). "The title triggers many kinds of thoughts. This is a beautiful romantic comical love story set in a small town. The title is an integral part of the film."
He also spoke about his upcoming mocukmentary Bad Man. "It is for the first time that the iconic character of the villain is the title of the film. This is India's first mockumentary in which everyone plays themselves. I hope this film has a sequel and prequels in times to come."

Message to Khaleej Times readers
"Khaleej Times is the first newspaper I pick when I am in the plane or lounge, whenever I am in Dubai, to get the real feel of the UAE. Over the years, Bollywood stars have taken pride in visiting Khaleej Times before the release of their film, ahead of the premiere and meeting and having a great interaction with the journalists and my dear friend Suhail Galadari. I am very happy that today Khaleej Times has progressed with time and now it's digital to reach out to the viewers."

Changing the narrative of Bollywood, one film at a time
"The storytelling over the years has changed. The writers take inspiration from what happens in real life. The good and the bad has merged in today's day and age. Hence, writers are not writing villainous characters like Gabbar, Mogambo etc. Those characters may not necessarily come back. Villains have changed over the years in cinema."

'I started the transition from Bollywood to Hollywood'
"I am the first commercial Bollywood actor who started the transition from Bollywood to Hollywood. I created the path between Hollywood and Bollywood. I am proud of the fact that many of my colleagues like Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are cementing and following the path."
