His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 700 prisoners ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. Announcing the news on Twitter on Tuesday, the Dubai Media Office said the pardoned prisoners are from various nationalities.

On Tuesday, the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had ordered the release of 935 prisoners who had been sentenced in various cases. His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, also ordered the release of 304 prisoners.
