Muslim doctor shot and stabbed outside Texas mosque

A Muslim man on his way to morning prayer services was attacked outside of a mosque in Houston on Sunday, according to a report in ABC 13.

A spokesperson for the mosque, Mohammed Imaduddin, told the news channel that the victim, who was a doctor, was ambushed by three people.
The attackers shot and stabbed the victim, Fox 26 reported.
"It is very scary right now given the current political climate," Imaduddin told ABC 13.
The TV station has identified the mosque where the incident took place as Madrasah Islamiah.
The incident comes the day after another Muslim man was beaten outside of a mosque in Florida. Hate crimes and threats against Muslims have increased in the months since the terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.
Meanwhile, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump has vowed to ban all members of the religion, numbering around 1.6 billion worldwide, from entering the U.S.
