In a tragic accident, a college senior gymnast Samantha Cerio from Auburn University, Alabama, US, is said to have dislocated both her knees and broke both her legs during an event on Friday. Cerio was making her first pass at the NCAA Gymnastics Baton Rouge Regional, attempting a handspring double front with a blind landing when she made the hard landing and fell to the mat. "It was pretty tough to watch. She's a trouper. The last thing she said was, 'Go help the girls'. The girls rallied around her. They're doing this for her right now," Auburn coach Jeff Graba said after the meet, NYP quoted Nola.com. In a video on NYP shows Cerio screaming in pain as she sat on the floor and clutching both her legs. Medical staff and athletic trainers rushed to help her and she taken to hospital on stretcher. Although details of Cerio's injuries have not been revealed by Auburn officials, Nola.com reported she dislocated both of her knees and broke both of her legs. The team rallied around Cerio's injury, with the hashtag "#StickItForSam" before the final on Saturday night. Adding that Cerio was the "heart and soul" of the team, Graba said, "We wanted more than anything to do this for her." Cerio's team finished fourth during the regional finals on Saturday, according to the Auburn Tigers website. "I think we were out of gas. Emotionally spent. But I thought the girls fought hard. They did a great job," Graba said after the final.
