A packed passenger flight, which was set to take off from Krasnodar International Airport in southwest Russia, was delayed after an elderly man on board suddenly started screaming that he could see devils and warned they would all die.
Shocked crew members, who were unable to calm the passenger down, called security officials to have him removed from the plane. A passenger has shared footage of the outburst, according to a Daily Mail report eventually he was escorted off the plane by stewards and police.
After the elderly man was removed from the plane, passengers were asked by police to also disembark while they inspected the aircraft for explosives.
Passengers were also asked to leave the plane by the police and had to spend around 40 minutes on a bus while the plane was carefully checked for any possible explosive devices that might have been left by the man.
The flight was delayed by two hours at the airport and passengers had to wait for 40 minutes in a bus during the check.
Ivan K, who filmed the video, was quoted as saying:
'The old man looked like a lunatic, he was bugging stewards and other passengers but I suspect he was more mentally ill or high on drugs rather than being a terrorist.
'Nevertheless because of him every passenger had to leave the plane and the flight was delayed for two hours.
He further added that people who had transition flights from the airport missed it and had to wait up to 24 hours to catch a substitute. However, the report does not state what transpired of the removed passenger whose name was not mentioned.
