Contemporary Indian art matches the cultural and ideological diversity of the country, and thanks to rapid globalisation these colourful canvasses are becoming increasingly visible in the international art world.
Last year one of India's prominent art galleries in Delhi, AnYahh!! Art opened its first international outpost in Dubai. The gallery is renowned for offering a platform to showcase modern and contemporary art by budding artists.
Over the years, the gallery has worked towards providing the masses with affordable art thanks to its dedication to exploring and showcasing aesthetically rich forms of art in various genres.
Reportedly, the price of the paintings at the Dubai gallery is identical to their price in India, making it competitive and allowing patrons to own a piece of original art at the price of an expensive print. The gallery boasts of over 800 works in its private collection and is located at Villa No.2, Al Wasl Road, Umm Suqeim 3.
Recently, the gallery, in association with AJR Events, hosted 'Art Expressions', an exhibition that featured the latest works by upcoming Indian artists such as Bishwaranjan Bhunia, Sudip Routh, Madhusudan Saha and Dipankar Sikder. The works covered popular genres such as abstract, landscape, and figurative, among others. The collection was inspired by the unique style of each artist and imbibes strong Indian ethos and culture in it. These art maestros are deeply connected to the culture in which they are rooted in and this was visible in the subjects they chose to portray.
Asheesh Sethi, Founder, AnYahh said: "We have, in a short span of time, become an art landmark in Dubai. People have come to expect great things from us, and we will always strive to exceed the expectations of our clients".
Works by these contemporary artists is a testimony to the constant evolution of India's visual culture. The country's incredibly rich artistic tradition continues to form its eclectic identity and its beauty never ceases to amaze the viewer.
