Legendary Tunisian artist and singer Saber Al Rubai will perform on the first night of the third Sharjah World Music Festival (SWMF), on January 7 at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre, thus launching the festival's events which continue till January 12.
The SWMF is organised by Furat Qaddouri Music Centre, and is sponsored by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). Participating in the festival are the best of Arab and foreign artists and musical groups, coming from 13 countries from around the world. Its events include fully-covered artistic evenings held at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Al Qasba Theatre, and The Flag Island, as well as free evenings held in open air in Al Qasba, the Heart of Sharjah, and Al Majaz Waterfront.
Artist Saber Al Rubai expressed his happiness to participate in the Sharjah World Music Festival. "I am happy to take part in this festival, one that holds a special place because of its organisation by Sharjah, the heart of culture and art. I am so lucky to have a chance to visit this beautiful emirate."
