15 killed in Telangana road accident

Hyderabad: At least 15 people were killed on the spot and over 20 others injured on Wednesday in a ghastly accident when a lorry rammed into a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus near Tummaguda village in Nalgonda district, about 70 kms from the State capital.
The ill-fated bus, with 35 passengers on board, was proceeding to Nalgonda from Bhongir town when the mishap occurred. According to police, the speeding lorry, belonging to Haryana, rammed into the bus, leading to the tragedy. Such was the impact of the collision that right wing of the state-owned bus was mangled and most of the deaths, including that of the driver, were reported from this side of the vehicle.
The injured were rushed to hospitals at Bhongir, Rammannapet and Hyderabad. The death toll is likely to go up as the condition of some of the injured passengers was stated to be serious. Three rescue teams from the police and revenue departments rushed to the accident spot and shifted the injured to the hospitals.
