16 bodies handed over to families

DUBAI - A total of 16 bodies of the Kish Airline plane victims were handed over to their families after reports were completed by Dubai Police, a police official said yesterday. Colonel Dr Abdul Qadir Al Khayat, head of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence at Dubai Police, said the bodies were handed over to families in cooperation with Sharjah Police.

He said police had also completed DNA testing of the remaining 21 bodies and would start matching processes today.

Our staff reporter adds: Mohammed Noufal, Sales and Marketing Manager of Kish Airline, said yesterday. "The bodies comprise one Indian, two Algerians, one Egyptian, and six Iranians. A total of four other bodies are also waiting to be cleared, pending the release of certain documents," he told Khaleej Times. The bodies of two of the Kish Airline's Iranian crewmembers - Ismalil (aircraft security) and Natnei (air hostess) have also been sent back home.
