Abu Dhabi Police has issued over 1,600 fines for flouting coronavirus safety measures during a two-month period.
A statement issued by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on Thursday said that as part of the efforts to protect the community's health and safety, and to curb the spread of Covid-19, Abu Dhabi Police
has issued 1,672 fines during a two-month period.

Fines were issued for failing to adhere to precautionary measures at several shopping malls and beaches across Abu Dhabi, including not wearing face masks, not observing physical distancing and attending gatherings.
Abu Dhabi Police emphasises the importance of adhering to precautionary and preventative measures, and urges community members to act and behave responsibly while in public places, the statement added.
