A 22-year-old Emirati man - Fahd Ali Saeed Al Yamahi - has won a prize of Dh20,000 for registering his car here in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
It is for the first time that an Emirati national has won the monthly prize as part of the 'My Lucky Number' initiative launched by the General Resources Authority in December 2019.
The first winner of the prize was 44-year-old Pankaj Tilak Raj, an Indian, while 69-year-old Zuhair Rida Sami, a Jordanian, bagged it in February, 2020.
Jamal Ahmad Al Tair, chairman, General Resources Authority, said the pioneering scheme has encouraged more car owners to have their vehicles registered.
"The monthly raffle draw is totally electronic, transparent and trustworthy."
Al Yamahi thanked the authority in Ras Al Khaimah for the initiative.
"This prize does boost the communication between government entities and members of the society."
Al Yamahi said he was so excited to be the third lucky winner of the prize.
"This is for the first time that I have got my car registered in Ras Al Khaimah," he pointed out, urging the public to have their vehicles and motorbikes registered as well.
"It took me only a few minutes to get all the paperwork done in a smooth, and accurate way," he said. "The staff were very friendly and well-equipped."
