Two Emiratis and their maid burned to death after their car caught fire on Sharjah's Mleiha Road on Monday. According to the police, the fire broke out after a tyre burst.
A top traffic police official said that after the tyre burst, the car hit a cement barrier and then veered off the road before crashing into a streetlight. The two Emiratis - aged 71 and 61 - and their maid died before rescue officials could reach the spot.
Their bodies have been transferred to the morgue.

Warning against circulating video

Major Abdul Rahman Khater, director of traffic awareness department, said an onlooker at the accident site irresponsibly recorded a video of the victims as they burned to death. Major Khater warned residents against circulating this video. "Anyone who circulates this video would be subjected to legal action. We must respect the victims' families, who wouldn't want people to watch as their loved ones died," he said.
The officer also warned against taking videos or photos of accident sites.
