The trio went missing after riding the jet ski far out to sea near Al Bahrani Island. They were located on a small isle some hours later, and were rescued by the Search and Rescue facility of Abu Dhabi air wing police.

Pilot and Head of the Rescue and Air Ambulance Division of Abu Dhabi Air Wing Police Colonel Ibrahim Al Balooshi said: “We received a report from the central operation department at 10.35pm on Friday indicating that three young men aged between 24-25 years old had rented a jet ski from a hotel in Abu Dhabi at 5.30pm on the same day.”

“Their destination was a water area nearby Al Bahrani Island; however they failed to come back,” he continued.

Col. Al Balooshi said: “Having drawn and calculated the expected travel course, a rescue and search plane, equipped with a thermographic (imaging) camera had taken off to search for, and locate the three missing men.

An hour later, they were located on an isle close to Al Bahrani Island, where they were found well and safe and the trio were airlifted to the land ambulance.

Col. Al Balooshi pointed out that the three guys did not have any mobile phone to communicate or call for help.

He called upon people who rent jet skis to keep their contact numbers with receptionists at hotels or any facility that offer jet ski rental and notify them with the travel course and destination prior to the voyage so that rescue teams can reach them fast in an emergency.
