This was stated by Sulaim Abdullah, Director of the Labour Inspection Department at the ministry.
He stressed that the ministry would continue cooperation with the Dubai Department of Economic Development to chase these companies which recruit a significant number of workers and release them in the market.
“This illegal practice results in many problems, like absconding, exploitation of ‘illegal’ workers by companies that offers them jobs, etc,” he noted, adding: “We are working intensively to clear the market of such companies to safeguard the welfare and rights of all, including the workers themselves.”
On the other hand, the ministry has stopped dealing with 438 companies for violating the Labour Law and the ministry’s regulations, and those companies which did not show any kind of cooperation with the ministry to rectify their offences, he said.
Last month, the ministry carried out periodical inspection visits of 585 companies in Dubai. Just 132 of them were complying with the rules, whereas the remaining 453 committed violations, mainly related to employing absconders.
Only 15 of the violating companies expressed their intention to rectify their violations, and accordingly, they were given a grace period for that, he said, adding that the remaining 453 were blacklisted and the ministry will not accept any transaction from them until they rectify their violations. The ministry has lifted the ban on 10 blacklisted companies which had rectified their violations last month, he informed.
Besides, the ministry also carried out eight inspection visits in coordination with the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department last month that resulted in reporting 75 violators of which 25 were absconders, 11 female workers on parental visas without being issued the necessary labour card, 20 on visit visas, 13 infiltrators, 4 absconding maids, and 2 on the sponsorship of the Free Zone Authority.
He said that in coordination with the DNRD, 26 of the violators were deported after they paid the necessary fines.
The authority added it will provide necessary support to Keeta Drones, 'including facilitating communication with relevant government entities'
