4 promoted as lieutenant generals

Islamabad - The incumbent Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant-General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been sent to GHQ and made Inspector General (IG) training.

A high-level promotion board approved on Tuesday promotions of four major generals to the rank of lieutenant generals.
Four major generals including Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Sadiq Ali, Umar Durrani and Aamir Riaz have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, according to a statement issued by the military's media wing, ISPR.
Further, Lt-Gen. Ikramul Haq was posted as Gujranwala corps commander, Lt-Gen Malik Zafar Iqbal as Rawalpindi corps commander, Lt-Gen Sadiq Ali as Lahore corps commander and Lt-Gen. Umar Farooq Durrani as Mangla corps commander.
The incumbent Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant-General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been sent to GHQ and made Inspector General (IG) training.
"Lt-Gen. Hilal Hussain has been posted as commander Army Strategic Force Command and Lt-Gen Aamir Riaz as commander Southern Command," the ISPR added. Lieutenant-General Asim Bajwa is expected to retain his post as DG ISPR.
