50 Buses for Disabled Students

The head of ETE’s Al Ain Branch,Mohammed Moin Al Ali, said theETE has handed over 18 buses to the Abu Dhabi Education Zone (ADEZ), nine to the education authorities in the Eastern Region and one to the Western Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate, six to education authorities in Dubai, four in Ras Al Khaimah, two in Sharjah, one inUmmAl Quwain, and one in Ajman.

The entrance to the buses are fitted with special footboards that facilitate the boarding of disabled students while seated in their wheelchairs.

Al Ali said that 789 male and female bus supervisors have been recruited by ETE’s Al Ain Branch to mind the school children aboard the buses. “Among them are 554 Emirati supervisors and 235 expatriates.

The establishment will also appoint 30 local supervisors for buses that carry students of Al Ain to schools in faraway areas,” he added.
