60 customised car numbers on auction

DUBAI — A total of 60 customised car numbers will be offered for sale at the first auction for such numbers to be held at the Grand Hall of the Traffic Police Administration in Al Barsha area, Bur Dubai, next week, the Dubai Traffic Police Department, organisers of the auctions, said yesterday.

The director of the department, Brigadier Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, said the Tuesday auction would begin at 10.30pm. On offer will be 60 three-, four- and five-digit customised numbers of the E Code, with a total base value of Dh1, 248,000.

On top of the list, said Brig. Al Zafeen, are numbers 131 and 363, over which bidders are expected to have a strong competition. Brig. Al Zafeen will supervise the auction and the issue of ownership certificates in accordance with the rules governing customised car numbers in Dubai.

The Tuesday auction will have nine three-digit numbers of a base value of Dh80, 000 each (Total base value is Dh720,000). Among the most important numbers are: 242, 454, 575, 656, 737, 818 and 989.

The auction will also have nine four-digit numbers of a base value of Dh20, 000 each (total base value of Dh180, 000). They include: 1221, 2332, 3553, 4664, 5775, 6886, 7997, 8448 and 9119.

In addition, there will be 18 four-digit numbers of a base value of Dh6, 000 each (total base value of Dh108, 000). Among the numbers on offer are: 1300,1600, 2100, 2400, 3400, 3700, 4600, 5300, 5700, 6300, 6800, 7200, 7900, 8500, 8900, 9100, and 9300. There will also be 24 five-digit numbers of a base value of Dh10, 000 each (total base value of Dh240, 000). They include: 31111, 41111, 42222, 45555, 52222, 53333, 58888, 59999, 62222, 64444, 68888, 72222, 73333, 74444, 76666, 79999, 82222, 84444, 89999, 93333, 94444, 95555, 97777 and 98888.

Brig. Al Zafeen said the Grand Hall at Al Barsha had been selected to host the auctions. The auctions were shifted from the Quality Guarantee Hall from the Deira traffic headquarters after recent auctions witnessed huge attendance.
