The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has impounded 65 vehicles abandoned in public car parking lots and open areas in the suburbs of the capital city.
The civic body has issued 238 warnings to owners of unattended vehicles.
The clean-up campaign was carried out in Baniyas West, Baniyas East, Shakhbout City, Al Shamkha and Al Shawamekh areas in Abu Dhabi.
During the campaign, the municipality raised awareness of the public on the importance of cleaning vehicles and not leaving them unattended for prolonged periods in public car parking lots or open areas.
The campaign resulted in the impoundment of the vehicles that had exhausted the legal notice period. Damaged boats, tankers and trucks were among the vehicles that were impounded.
