Speaking to Khaleej Times, Ammar bin Tamim, Director of Administration Affairs Department at the DTC, said: “DTC will also be running a direct bus service for Global Village passengers from its Sharjah stops at Al Wahda Street and Al Rolla Square for which 30 buses have been earmarked.”
The buses will operate daily from 4pm to 1am with each a bus departing the stations in Sharjah to the Global Village every 15th minute. The fare is Dh5 per person per trip.
“The transport needs of residents of Sharjah and the Northern Emirates were taken into consideration when this decision was made. The new bus service is the cheapest means of transport from Sharjah to the Global Village, and is aimed at reducing the traffic congestion along Sharjah-Dubai road,” said Bin Tamim.
He said in coordination with the DSF organising committee, the DTC has been provided with a parking lay-by for taxis near the Global Village entrance.
