The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is offering 80 captivating licensing plates bearing 2, 3, 4 and five digits of Codes (F-H-K-L-J-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T) in its forthcoming 99th open auction.
The auction will be held at Westin Hotel, Al Habtoor City, Dubai, on Saturday, May 12, starting at 04:30 pm. The registration of bidders will open on Sunday, May 6. The offering includes an array of mesmerising numbers such as F 55, O 888, T 2222, and T 80000.
Sultan Al Marzouqi, Director of Vehicles licensing, RTA Licensing Agency, said, "A 5% VAT will apply to numbers sold in the Auction. Registration for the auction can be made on the same day of the auction (May 12) from 02:00pm to 04:00pm. All attendees, except RTA employees on duty at the Auction, will be entitled to take part in a draw on the plate Q 725.

"Participation in the auction requires the potential bidder to have a traffic file in Dubai. A cheque amounting to Dh25,000 has to be deposited but can be redeemed in case no successful bid is made. An amount of Dh120 has to be paid as subscription fees. Potential bidders can also pay deposits by credit cards or submit a cheque number through RTA website (www.rta.ae), provided the cheque will be deposited to staffs on the auction day. Successful bidders have to settle dues within ten working days starting from the closure of the auction to avoid deposit forfeiture and blacklisting of defaulters. Any bidder can own an unspecified number of plates.
"A dedicated team at RTA's Call Center (8009090) has been furnished with all information about the auction to respond to any public inquiries relating to the sale. Open auctions are quite popular as they offer direct competitive bidding in an action-packed and transparent atmosphere. Thus they contribute to realising RTA's third strategic goal (People Happiness), especially for those who have a passion to own distinctive plates," concluded Al Marzouqi.
